Retraction

Lance did NOT have to close tonight! I was so surprised when he came in around 6:00 tonight as I was cooking dinner! =) I asked him how he got the night off, and he was like, "Uh, hon, I work Saturday until close, so I don't have to work this night. I only close 2 days/week." I told him I might have his schedule figured out once we've been married 5 years! LOL! I was so thankful to have him home! I was so warn out today for some reason! I mean I was almost falling asleep at dinner, so Lance told me to go relax and he took care of cleaning up after dinner. I felt guilty about it, but he was successful at sending me out of the room =) He's such a good husband! Of course, I didn't really relax totally. I helped Kristina with her piano practice, and then went into our room, where it was nice and quiet and got caught up on some different forms and things I had needed to fill out, but hadn't had a quiet moment away from the kids to do it yet. Anyway, the little ones are in bed now, and Lance and Carter are watching some sci-fi thingy. I suppose I will go join them and try to get into it. LOL!

Carter

Carter-11-is mature beyond his years....so much so that when he does do one of those silly kid things, and you think, "What on earth was he thinking?" You kind of have to step back and say, "Oh, yeah, he's only 11!" He has such a deep love for God and a hunger for the things of God. This is so exciting to see! He is so tenderhearted with his younger siblings even when I know he would rather they go someplace else sometimes. Carter loves history and geography, and wants to be quized on these things often, just for fun! He also loves to build with his legos and play board games. Carter is also very musically talented. He has a beautiful singing voice, and he also plays the piano very well. We can't wait to see what God has planned for him

Kristina

Kristina (will be 8 on January 23rd) is the one most people remember from our family. She is a social butterfly, loves to get involved in anything and everything, and she definitely makes herself known wherever we go. She is very articulate, and has a very strong speaking voice for a little girl. She loves making things, from painting, to sewing, to knitting, to cooking. People who come to our house, will always receive a homemade gift from Kristina. She is also an entreprenuer at heart. her brain is constantly going for business ideas. Currently, she is going to sew and make things and sell them online when she grows up, while her husband is in the field. (I guess she plans on marrying a farmer! LOL!) Anyway, her plan might change by next week, so check back. =) She is so tiny. She only looks like she is about 4 or 5, but she has a huge personality! She also loves music and currently plays the piano. She will be getting a violin for her birthday! This is something she has wanted since she was 3! I can't wait to give it to her!! =)

Jakob

Jakob-5 is full of life! He loves to just have fun, and then some more fun, and so all things.. even work, are fun to him. Jakob is all about the journey, and not so much about the destination. He could care less if he loses a game as long as he had fun plying it. He also loves to do manual work. If you have leaves to be raked, or just about anything that uses his hands, he is right there, and he will work hard for you. He loves to build things with any kind of blocks. He often says he is going to be a builder when he grows up. Jakob also loves football. It makes us laugh because he is so young, but he loves it! He also LOVES his big brother Carter! Since Carter is only here every other weekend, Jakob counts the days from when Carter leaves until he comes back again! He gets so sad when Carter has to leave. Overall, Jakob is a happy guy who loves life! Nothing much bothers him.
