Kristina still slept a lot today, but has been running a very low Temp only off and on. Last night I was scared and got very little sleep! Kristina's fever went up to 103.8 around 6:30 yesterday evening, and she was just very out of it. She seemed to be getting worse, and she had not had anything to eat since her snack at 10:30 (she had also eaten breakfast) I fixed her some soup, and she refused it, saying it tasted yucky, and started to cry. (It was just your basic Campbell's chick. noodle.) I offered to get her anything else, and she would not eat anything. I had to literally force her to drink because she wouldn't. I could only get a sip or two in her at a time, so I kept getting up every hour or two to make sure she got some fluids in her. Also put cold, wet wash cloth on the back of her neck to bring temp down, and finally started coming down towards morning time. Then I was able to fall asleep finally. She also had fitful dreams all night. The fever finally broke this morning, and it hasn't been higher than 100 all day. She has gotten up a few times to play, and then goes back and takes a nap again. I just pray that Jakob and I don't get it!! If I get it, I'm in trouble! I have no idea how I will take care of the kids if I feel as awful as Kristina did! Also, I don't like the idea of Jakob, at his age, getting it! That's even scarier than Kristina having it!
Looks like I will have my bridal shower the weekend of July 12th.....We are still making plans....or rather, my best friend, Jamie is....With her living in KC, it is hard to work all the details. My friend Laurel is also helping out....but, she lives in Omaha....so, yeah, not much better. LOL! We're just going to do the shower and the bachelorette party (LOL! Just a bunch of girls sitting around eating chocolate, and laughing and chatting...no strippers or anything like that! LOL!)on the same day, so that people won't have to travel twice (will be in Cedar Rapids). We are currently planning on doing everything at a hotel...Renting a suite at a Residence Inn....You know, one of those places with a nice living area, kitchenette etc. Then Jamie and Laurel will also have a place to stay....Anyway, they are just in the planning stages, but sounds like it will be fun. =)
Well, I better get some sleep to try and keep the flu bug away!!

- Lance and I are the proud parents of three children, Carter-11, Kristina-8, and Jakob-5. We are a Christian homeschooling family living in Northern Iowa. God has and continues to bless us so much! We are a blended family, and I am in awe and just so thankful for His grace, as He has caused our family to "blend" so well! We place Him above all else because without Him willing it, we can't even take our next breaths.
Carter
Carter-11-is mature beyond his years....so much so that when he does do one of those silly kid things, and you think, "What on earth was he thinking?" You kind of have to step back and say, "Oh, yeah, he's only 11!" He has such a deep love for God and a hunger for the things of God. This is so exciting to see! He is so tenderhearted with his younger siblings even when I know he would rather they go someplace else sometimes. Carter loves history and geography, and wants to be quized on these things often, just for fun! He also loves to build with his legos and play board games. Carter is also very musically talented. He has a beautiful singing voice, and he also plays the piano very well. We can't wait to see what God has planned for him
Kristina
Kristina (will be 8 on January 23rd) is the one most people remember from our family. She is a social butterfly, loves to get involved in anything and everything, and she definitely makes herself known wherever we go. She is very articulate, and has a very strong speaking voice for a little girl. She loves making things, from painting, to sewing, to knitting, to cooking. People who come to our house, will always receive a homemade gift from Kristina. She is also an entreprenuer at heart. her brain is constantly going for business ideas. Currently, she is going to sew and make things and sell them online when she grows up, while her husband is in the field. (I guess she plans on marrying a farmer! LOL!) Anyway, her plan might change by next week, so check back. =) She is so tiny. She only looks like she is about 4 or 5, but she has a huge personality! She also loves music and currently plays the piano. She will be getting a violin for her birthday! This is something she has wanted since she was 3! I can't wait to give it to her!! =)
Jakob
Jakob-5 is full of life! He loves to just have fun, and then some more fun, and so all things.. even work, are fun to him. Jakob is all about the journey, and not so much about the destination. He could care less if he loses a game as long as he had fun plying it. He also loves to do manual work. If you have leaves to be raked, or just about anything that uses his hands, he is right there, and he will work hard for you. He loves to build things with any kind of blocks. He often says he is going to be a builder when he grows up. Jakob also loves football. It makes us laugh because he is so young, but he loves it! He also LOVES his big brother Carter! Since Carter is only here every other weekend, Jakob counts the days from when Carter leaves until he comes back again! He gets so sad when Carter has to leave. Overall, Jakob is a happy guy who loves life! Nothing much bothers him.
